P. Govardhan Reddy’s death has left an empty void in the heart of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana! Palvai Govardhan Reddy, MP of Rajya Sabha assumed office in Telangana on 2nd May 2014. He was one of the few MP’s who shifted from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana. Know for his meticulous attitude and fiery speeches, Reddy will be truly missed. Govardhan Reddy was One of the most Senior MP’s of the Rajya Sabha!
Born on 20th November 1936, Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s age was 80 when he died. He was born in Nadimpally Village of the now Achampet Mandal in the Mahaboobnagar District, Andhra Pradesh. His parents, Sri Palvai Ranga Reddy and Smt. Anasuyamma hail from a very simplistic lifestyle. Born and raised in simplicity, Reddy never had a shred of arrogance in him. A hard to find, true to the word leader is how I will remember P. G. Reddy!
He held Academics and Education in Very High Regard
Reddy was an educator himself. Having no schooling facilities in his village, he moved to his maternal uncle’s village for completing his education. Due to the Razakar Movement, he had to keep on shifting to various places for completing his schooling. He later settled in Hyderabad in 1951 and was studying in St. Mary’s High School. He studied in Urdu Medium up until 5th Standard and later in Telugu Medium. Reddy completed his Intermediate and Graduation from Viveka Vardhani College, Hyderabad. He is a Bachelor of Arts. As a student, he was always interested in politics.

Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s wife is Shrimati P. Srujamani. They married each other in the year 1962. Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s family includes two sons and a daughter. May our condolences reach out to P. Govardhan Reddy’s children in good spirit.
A strong leader of the Indian National Congress and a fair MP, P. Govardhan Reddy will be truly missed. His tenure as an MP of Rajya Sabha was going to end on 2nd April 2018.
