Shah Rukh Khan Dwarf

The wait is over! Shah Rukh Khan-Katrina Kaif- Anushka Sharma starrer Zero’s first look has been released and the King of Bollywood was left us awestruck with his new look. Do you feel that you don’t believe what you see? Well, at least I felt so, when I saw Shah Rukh as a dwarf dancing on Mohd. Rafi’s classic Iss Diwane Dil Ne Kya Jadoo Chalayan. But what is more exciting is that after a string of boring romantic films (pardon my bias!), the Baadshah of Bollywood is finally doing something which has left his fans begging for more!

To be honest, I have been an SRK fan all my life! All my life, I have seen Shah Rukh Khan as the ultimate “Chocolate Boy.” A reel-life charmer, a real-life inspiration! SRK was my idol and will always be. From playing a casual flirt, a boy next door Raj in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and bewitching the hearts and minds of all the ladies to a badass psycho in Baazigar, SRK made us love him more and more one movie after another with his personality and ability to be every type of a character there existed.

Some of his most powerful performances came in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Baazigar, Kal Ho Na Ho, My Name is Khan and Chak De India. Did you notice one thing which was common in all these movies? It’s the same Shah Rukh Khan and his talent to play the various shades of a human being. Shah Rukh Khan has the talent to be anyone and everyone and he has proved it time and again!

But it’s true what they say, the film industry typecasts you and then you just remain THAT person forever. Isn’t that the same thing which happened with our beloved King Khan? With movies like DDLJ, KKHH, KANK, K3G, Devdas, Veer-Zara, Mohabbatein, and tons of others, he earned the title “The King of Romance.” We all accepted him that way and he made his place in our hearts as the ideal lover boy!

But did we forget how easily he pulled off the most difficult and challenging roles time and again? Or was the guy next door image satisfying for us? For me at least, I enjoyed watching the different character shades of the mighty King!

What happened to an actor of such finesse that he did quality work only a couple of times in the past decade? No offense, but watching a legendary actor waste his time playing silly lovers didn’t fascinate me at all! For me at least, the last challenging roles taken up by SRK were Rizwan Khan in My Name is Khan and Kabir Khan in Chak De! India. As much as I love seeing Shah Rukh Khan as the King of Romance I would love to see him as a brilliant actor ready to explore himself.

Coming back to Zero, seeing SRK in a totally unexpected avatar has not only shocked me but also amazed me! There’s a part of me which can’t wait to see him as a dwarf but there’s another part of me which feels that would this one too be a let-down?

SRK has made it to the biggest stage of life, well, come on, wouldn’t you want to be someone whose country is known by his name?

At the end of the day, I wonder if Zero will satisfy our longing for THAT SRK movie which will blow our minds! For you will always be the King of our hearts!

Until next time, here’s Zero’s teaser starring Shah Rukh Khan as a dwarf!
